Thl’s Kate Meldrum emerges a worthy winner in the Road and Rail category of this year’s Women in Travel Awards.

The success of women within the travel industry was celebrated recently at the Women in Travel Awards 2019, with Kate Meldrum from thl picking up a win.

Meldrum is General Manager, Australian Operations, for Tourism Holdings Limited (thl) which operates the Britz, Maui and Mighty ranges of rental motorhomes, and the KEA motorhomes sold across Australia, as well as the RV Sales Brands.

The Awards recognise women who have achieved extraordinary success in their professional arenas and celebrate their invaluable contribution through leadership, innovation and courage to the travel industry.

Meldrum received her award in the Road and Rail category. She says that both the win and the nomination were a lovely surprise.

“I was unaware that my boss and colleagues at thl had put me forward as a nominee and only found out when they let me know that I was a finalist,” she told Camper. “The internal endorsement was a wonderful surprise and very meaningful to me… to then go on to win the award was, of course, the whole surprise and delight package.

“It is so good to see the continued success of women in the broader travel industry and whilst the number of female leaders in the RV industry are proportionally lower, our numbers are increasing. I hope that by winning this award, it has raised the profile of our industry yet again.”
